Is too fat

chrismear is too fat. Suspect this is the root cause of a number of other issues.

Not enough information in the bug report. How severe is this bug? Is it blocking for release 28.0? Do we need to track the metrics (if so, a quantification method should be agreed upon, such as cubic centimeters of water displaced when immersed in a bath divided by height when upright, for example)?
Furthermore if this is really the root cause for other bugs then should we not bring the resolution forward to release 27.5? Or at least aim for a half-solution by then (even if it's a temporary hack in the code).
